Discovering the Borzago valley, a side valley of Val Rendena
The Borzago valley laterally detaches from Rendena valley in the right bank. Its origin is glacial and there are evident signs of the next shaping done by the action of the stream.
It is crossed by the Rio Badu of Pelugo and developed on east-west up to the glaciers of the eastern Carè Alto.
The lower part of the valley is characterized by woods alternating with open meadows and pastures, interrupted by scattered huts and small settlements: witness of the past, moderate and active presence of the man farmer and shepherd.
Higher up the ancient huts, no longer climbed to the summer pastures, mark the transition from the pastures and from conifer woods to the roughness of granitic rocks and glaciers. At an altitude of 2450m will find the Rifugio Carè Alto, built in 1912 by a group of Rendena mountain climbers in a panoramic position on the Rendena valley and the group of the Brenta Dolomites.
Surroundings, the green heart of Trentino
The Val Rendena and its side valleys offer countless possibilities for walks and mountain hikes along the side of the Dolomites of Brenta (east) and along the side of the Adamello - Presanella (west).
A large part of the territory belongs to the Natural Park Adamello-Brenta, the largest protected area in Trentino affected by the presence of 48 lakes (the most famous is the Tovel lake) and of the Adamello glacier, from which descend the impetuous water-courses, creating spectacular waterfalls, among which the most famous of the Val Genova.
For lovers of open-air sports, hiking, mountain bike along the routes of the Dolomiti di Brenta Bike, two golf courses of Campo Carlo Magno and Bocenago, and many leisure facilities throughout the Rendena valley. For those looking for a touch of worldliness, a few hours of shopping or an exclusive restaurant, the nearby resort of Madonna di Campiglio, the Garda lake and the cities of Trento and Rovereto provide fun, entertainment and culture.
